Tervetuloa Minna Canthin ja tasa-arvon päivän queer -lyhytelokuvanäytökseen! Näytöksessä nähdään 7 upeaa kotimaista tanssielokuvaa. Luvassa ihanan sateenkaareva näytös, joka liikuttaa, viihdyttää ja ottaa kantaa.

Näytös kestää 1h 20 minuuttia, jonka jälkeen järjestetään keskustelutilaisuus elokuvien tekijöiden kanssa. Elokuvien pääkieli on liike, mutta muutamat sisältävät myös suomea ja englantia. Näytöksen järjestää Muusa Tuotannot.

Welcome to the queer short film screening on the day of Minna Canth and equality! You will see 7 amazing Finnish dance films. Come see this moving, entertaining and rainbowing screening that takes a stance.

The screening is 1h 20 minutes long. There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers afterwards. The main language of the films is movement but a couple have Finnish and English audio or subtitles. The screening is organized by Muusa Tuotannot.

About the films:

Neljä kuvaa näkymisestä is a community dance film project with participants from the LGBTQ community. It was made as a part of the community project Breathing space that explores and makes visible the stories of members of the queer community through movement, creative writing and dance film work. The project took place in Tampere and this is its premiere screening. Dir: Hanna Lappalainen & Noora Nenonen.

Looking For Loïe is a feminist dance film which explores women in the working world and is inspired by the life and works of Loïe Fuller. The film was made by all female and non-binary makers. The film was shot in Pirkanmaa and this is its premiere screening. Dir: Tuulia Soininen.

Ballroom writes| Thanks God I'm Talented tells two different stories between Chigago and Tbilisi, Georgia. Stories tell about the challenges what their queer community is facing. Documentary also gives insight how dancing and performing is a way to survive, express themselves and write it's own story. Dir: Julian Nisenboim & Senna Brammer.

Toisin Tein is a short film about abortion by Sisus Sirkus. It’s based on personal stories and includes improvised movement on the ground, aerial acrobatics and the element of water. Dir: Jenny Mansikkasalo.

Further III is a screen dance film about getting further, oncoming challenges, and an individual’s relationship to an environment that human has left behind. Dir: Mia Tiihonen.

MIMOSA is about mind-numbing loneliness felt through every cell in the body. It is a study of feeling restless in your own skin. The burning sensation of being left alone, restlessness and being lost in thyself. Dir: Nella Matleena Savolainen.

A Portrait dance film looks at an ensemble of identities within one person. The gathering identities encounter simultaneously, and different mind states move the character rapidly through shifting locations, seasons, colors, and emotions. Dir: Vilma Tihilä.
